Welcome to the Dormen youth and vacation home in Horw! Our vacation home offers ideal group accommodation for school and class camps as well as vacation camps. The house is located on the outskirts of Horw and offers breathtaking lake and mountain views. With a total of 52 seats, there is enough space for your group. The rooms are divided into three rooms with four bunk beds each and two rooms with 20 bunk beds each. Please remember that you will need to bring your own sleeping bag and a fitted sheet.
The Dormen vacation home has two lounges/dining rooms, one for 40 people and one for 50 people. There is also a 150m2 forecourt. The kitchen is equipped with an electric hob, a large oven, a dishwasher and a pantry with fridge and freezer. Please note that you will need to bring your own kitchen towels.
There are numerous opportunities for leisure activities in the area around the vacation home. Directly around the house you will find a fireplace with barbecue, table and benches as well as a forest. A 300m2 hard court can be used as a playground or parking lot for up to 20 cars. There is a table tennis table in the lower forecourt.
In the immediate vicinity there is a football pitch, a playground, a forest for games as well as a Vita Parcours, mini golf and an inline skating track.
Water lovers can swim in the lake, which is just a 10-minute walk away. An indoor pool and a swimming pool are also available in the region. For skiing, cross-country skiing and sledging, the nearby winter sports resorts of Engelberg-Titlis, Melchsee-Frutt, Klewenalp and Glaubenberg are all within easy reach by car or public transport.
Excursions include the Museum of Transport, the Glacier Garden, the Musegg Towers, various museums in Lucerne, the Glasi Hergiswil, the Goldau Zoo and numerous hiking opportunities. There are also many mountain railroads in the immediate vicinity and the opportunity to take a boat trip on Lake Lucerne.
