Welcome to Grindelwald Youth Hostel! Our group accommodation is located at Geissstutzstrasse 12, 3818 Grindelwald, and can accommodate a total of 133 people. Located 1150 meters above sea level, you can enjoy a gigantic view of the surrounding area from here. The youth hostel is partially wheelchair-accessible and can be easily reached by bus (line 122, bus stop “Gaggi saw”) can be achieved. It is also possible to travel by car, although snow chains may be obligatory in winter. We have 13 parking spaces for which advance reservation is required.
Our accommodation offers various room categories, including 18 rooms with 4 bunk beds, 5 rooms with 6 bunk beds, 5 rooms with 2 beds and 2 rooms with 2 bunk beds. A total of 20 toilets and 16 showers are available to you. Hot and cold water is available in all rooms. Our central heating provides pleasant warmth, and you can light a cozy fire in our wonderful fireplace room in the evening.
At Grindelwald Youth Hostel, we offer you a range of facilities and activities in addition to sleeping accommodation. This includes a lounge/dining room for 120 people, a multi-purpose room for 50 people, a ski room, a terrace and a drying room. A fax machine, a television, a flipchart, a photocopier and a blackboard are available for your entertainment. In the sanitary facilities you will find washrooms, individual showers and rooms with shower and WC.
Our youth hostel is located on the outskirts of Grindelwald and offers an ideal starting point for various activities. In the surrounding area you will find an arena, a fireplace with barbecue, a swimming pool, a table and benches and a forest. You can play table football and various board games in the house. Outside, you can play boccia, football, table tennis, volleyball and games in the forest. In Grindelwald itself there are basketball hoops, beach volleyball, an ice rink, football pitches, golf courses, inline skating, climbing facilities, minigolf, mountain bike trails, nature reserves, orienteering routes, playgrounds, toboggan runs, tennis courts, Vita courses, volleyball courts, forest areas for games and hard courts.
The region around Grindelwald offers numerous activities for summer and winter vacations. You can hike, bike, climb or take the cable car up to over 3400 meters above sea level

In terms of activities, school classes are in good hands in Grindelwald and the surrounding area in both summer and winter. There’s plenty to experience from a sporting point of view – but those who enjoy nature and the countryside will also get their money’s worth.
As a guest of Grindelwald Youth Hostel, you will receive a guest card. This guest card is your ticket for all bus routes in Grindelwald and also entitles you to many discounts on admission and ticket prices in Grindelwald. Grindelwald is well served by public transport. The 122 bus line takes you comfortably from the front door to all corners of the Jungfrau Region.
The entire Jungfrau Region offers many attractive activities for the summer season. Hiking, biking, climbing or a leisurely ride on the cable car up to over 3400 meters above sea level.
The First valley side, playground in the mountains, offers beautiful, easy hiking trails as well as sporting activities of all kinds. Enjoy the sensational mountain panorama with your school class and then take the Firstflyer, mountain carts and scooters back to Grindelwald.
The Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau valley side offers both easy and challenging hikes with well-known excursion destinations such as the Bäregghütte or the Jungfraujoch. Reward your students after an exciting mountain hike in the most beautiful natural surroundings with a toboggan ride on the Pfingstegg or take the Eiger Trail at the foot of the impressive north face of the Eiger.
The Jungfrau ski region offers something for all snow fans. Be it classic skiing on the pistes or hiking in the snow. A great sledging experience awaits you at Bussalp – sledges can be hired from us on site at a reasonable price.
