Welcome to the Orion scout hostel in Biel! Our charming scout house offers space for up to 32 people and is perfect for school classes, courses, scout camps and weekend excursions. The house is located on the north-eastern edge of the city of Biel, in a quiet and green location right on the edge of the forest. From here you have a breathtaking view of Lake Biel and the Alps.
The Orion scout house has a large lounge with a balcony, fireplace and two galleries. There is room for up to 80 people. The room is ideal for parties and other events. There is also a gastro kitchen where you can prepare your meals. Various bedrooms are available for a good night’s sleep, including two 6-bed rooms, one 8-bed room and one 3-bed room. There is also space for 10 mattresses in the galleries.
The area around the scout home offers numerous opportunities for activities. Right around the house you will find a fireplace and a forest where you can play. In bad weather, you can organize games in the large lounge in the house. There is also an ice rink, a football pitch, bowling alleys, mountain bike trails, playgrounds and much more in the surrounding area.
For excursions into nature, Lake Biel with the St. St Peter’s Island, the Taubenloch and Twannerbach gorges, the Alte Aare and the Jura. Agriculture is also worth a visit, with vineyards in Ligerz and vegetable growing in Grosses Moos. History buffs can explore the Roman temple districts in Petinesca, the Schwab and Neuhaus Museum with finds from the pile-dwelling era and the history of industrialization.
The Pfadiheim Orion is easily accessible by car, bus and train. There are four parking spaces available. The nearest bus stop is only a 2-minute walk away. Please note that the Pfadiheim is not wheelchair accessible.
