Welcome to the Pfadiheim Akkon in Grenchen! The Akkon Scouts’ Home is an ideal group accommodation for up to 40 people. It is located at Austrasse 50, 2540 Grenchen and is situated on the outskirts of the village at an altitude of 420 meters above sea level. The house offers several rooms, including a lounge/dining room for 30 people, two training/group rooms for 30 people each, and a leader’s room for 6 people. A terrace is also available. WLAN is available and the large training room was renovated in summer 2005.

The Akkon Scouts’ Home has central heating and individual stoves (wood, electric). The sanitary facilities include two toilets, a washroom and a group shower. The kitchen is equipped with an electric stove, oven and refrigeration. There is also dinnerware, cookware and kitchen linen. A new professional kitchen with dishwasher is available.

The area surrounding the house offers an idyllic landscape with a stream, a fireplace with barbecue, tables and benches and an adjacent forest. There is also a playground with a meadow of about 1000m² and another forest for games. In the village there are various possibilities for sports activities such as basketball, beach volleyball, bocce, football, bowling, climbing, mini golf, tennis and a Vita course. A sports hall is also available.

There are many excursion possibilities in the vicinity of the Akkon Scout Home, including Lake Biel with the St. Petersinsel, a bicycle tour to Solothurn’s old town, hikes on the Grenchenberge towards the Chasseral, snowshoe hikes, an excursion to Grenchen’s Witi (a nature reserve) and a visit to the stork colony in Altreu. Other attractions in Grenchen are the Jura Astronomical Observatory, the Museum of Cultural History, the Kunsthaus and the airport, where sightseeing, sightseeing flights and parachuting are possible. Canoeing and boating on the Aare, hiking in the Jura and exploring the Nidleloch cave system in Oberdorf are also popular activities in the region.
